Well folks, imagine this…you walk in to a library and the shelf contains one book. You pick up that book and peruse it’s title. The book is titled “Jill’s Life.” You start flipping through the pages and your fingers skim to a chapter titled “The Engagement.” Then you start reading that chapter. But you never remembered that it was in the book until now. In fact you know that this is a new chapter in “Jill’s Life” The chapter goes something like this…Jill went to London, UK on a 6 day and 5 night trip. It ended up being a trip of a lifetime. Not only did Jill see Queen Elizabeth II and her husband the Duke of Edinburgh Prince Philip. She also saw 3 plays/musicals in the theatre. They were “Woman in Black”, “National Anthem”, and “Les Mis’erables.” Well Kevin Spacey was in “National Anthem” and David Schwimmer was in the audience!!! David Schwimmer also held the door to the bathroom for her. All theatre tickets were purchased at the half price ticket booth in Leicester square. The food was wonderful in London. So was the shopping. Aquascutum was new, Burberry was robbery expensive, and all kinds of delightful things were present just waiting for someone to take them home. In which case that someone was me sometimes. Jill also went to see the usual London spots such as Kensington Palace and Gardens, Windsor Castle, National Portrait Gallery, Hampton Court, Tower of London, and the British Museum. The most interesting clothing she saw was a Planet Hollywood United Kingdom Sweater. The initials were “PHUK” hahaha…But since this is a chapter titled “The Engagement” there should be some mention that Jill got engaged in London! The bloke she’s marrying in 1.5-2 years is the short, dark, handsome, and intelligent man of her dreams. It goes something like this. After a long day of sightseeing and being tourists, Jill’s left foot was on fire. By the time they got back to the hotel, they both were beat. The elevator wouldn’t show up fast enough. So, L thought to himself if I can carry Jill up the stairs 4 stories then I will propose to her right then and there. Well, he ended up carrying her without fail. When they got in the room he threw her on the bed. As she was pulling herself up, he pushed her down again and exclaimed “I’m going to do it!” Jill thought to herself “Don’t rape me!” L got down on one knee and proposed. In the little red box with a little red and white checkered bow was a scrap of tissue paper. Jill thought the ring was wrapped there. But it turned out the ring was under the little insert. It was the most brilliant and beautiful diamond ring she had ever seen. Well hopefully the rest is history and the history becomes the future.
On April 22, 2005 L asked Jill to marry him and spend the rest of her life with him. She wonders if London will be just as beautiful as it was that trip on her 10th anniversary. Will their son look like him?
