“All that Cheers Me Are the Jingle Jangle of My Keys” (Modified Blues)

This is how the past few days go,

I stubbed my toe on the bed post,

Spilled tea on my spreadsheet,

Boss wants me as toast.

Had a nightmare about parting

I don’t know why this must be.

Now the only thing that cheers me,

Is the jingle jangle of my keys.

I ain’t got change for a dollar,

No snack from the vending for me.

Can you feel the pent up holler?

I just want to scream.

Billed our clients for expenses,

That’s how I spent 6 hours today.

Now the only thing that cheers me,

Is the jingle jangle of my keys.

Cleaned some grout over the weekend,

Stains were more stubborn than my head.

Where is my godsend?

Why do bad things happen to good people?

Think I got gypped out of furniture,

Damn people gave me a run for $2,500.00.

Now the only thing that cheers me,

Is the jingle jangle of my keys.

Asked the old man to help me,

Said he had no time at all,

So now I have a dispute form to my name,

And a broken heart too.

Where is my god send?

Is it in the shape of a Rory?

Now the only thing that cheers me,

Is the jingle jangle of my keys.

Everything is broken down,

Including my damn car.

When will the madness end, I say?

I’m going to go get some The’

Now the only thing that cheers me,

Is the jingle jangle of  my keys.
